K-Selected Species: Cougar

Most K-selected animal species develop slowly, care for only a few young over multiple births, and are strong competitors. Cougars are K-selected species, living for a long time and giving birth multiple times over long periods. Many provide intensive parental care, extending this through many-year nurturing activities.
We explore a maternity visit near Colville, Washington, with a Washington State University field sampling team.
