Republican Representative Mo Brooks is trying to distance himself from the Capitol Rioters by claiming that he never coordinated with them - but his staff may have done it. He's trying to throw his own staffers under the bus in order to save his behind, but there is still plenty of evidence to suggest that he was well aware of what was going to happen that day. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Republican representative Mo Brooks was one of the Republican lawmakers who was mentioned by the two sources who spoke to rolling stone saying that they planned the January 6th, stop the steel rally with multiple Republican members of Congress. Mo Brooks was on the list. Somebody they talked to and now Mo Brooks is trying to walk that back. Mo Brooks has told reporters this week that I wasn't involved. Those were his words I wasn't involved. Now a smart person would have just ended the conversation there. Right? You would have just said, I wasn't involved, turned and walked away, pulled a Kirsten. Sinema said, don't touch me. I'm getting outta here. But no, Mo Brooks kept talking and he made it so much worse because after he said I was not involved, he said this, I don't know if my staff did, you know, but if they did, I'd be proud of them for helping to put together a rally lawful under the first amendment at the ellipse to protest voter fraud and election theft.

No, no, no. Momo. Like I wish Republicans understood that. Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all, because all you needed to say, all you needed to say was I was not involved, but you just kept going. Like, I guess my staff did like screw these guys. Right. But Hey, also awesome that they did it. You know, I don't know if my staff did, but if they did, you know? Yeah. That's, that's awesome. But you know, it was probably them anyway, like you're throwing them under the bus while also somehow pulling an OJ Simpson of if I did, if they did it, I guess like, well, I mean, maybe they did, but if they did, I'm glad they did. But I don't know that they did. All I know is that I showed up to give a speech wearing body armor. Yeah. You think we forgot about that?

Mo you going to tell me that just off of hunch, because you were not involved in the planning of this, you woke up on January six and said, all right, let me get ready for work. You know what? It's a special day. I'm going to put on my special Kevlar. It says something you do. Do you do that? When you wake up in the morning, does anybody watching this wake up and say, Hey, you know what weird feeling about today? Let me go put on body armor because I'm going to go talk to a group of nut jobs. No, that's not something a normal person does. That's not even a thing that a normal person owns by the way they give you actually own body armor. If you had to pull that out of your closet, maybe you've got some other issues kicking around that we probably also should know about Mo, but you knew something was going to happen. You would not have come wearing armor. If you didn't expect things to get a little Rocky. And now you're trying to convince us that you

Weren't involved in any of the planning. Totally no idea of this. You say you spoke at it wearing armor. You can throw your staff under the bus all day long. If you want while also praising them while throwing them under the bus. Like you did a great job. No, that's not how this works. Two witnesses say you were involved in the planning. You showed up to the event, wearing body armor. You knew something was going to happen. And by the time this is all over, we're all going to know exactly what you knew. And hopefully when that point comes, you will have been expelled by car from Congress. By that point, I know that's wishful thinking, but at the very least, we're going to know what she did. So maybe stop throwing people under the bus and start coming up with a better defense than just, well, maybe somebody else did it. I not going to fly. We will find out and you will be held accountable. Mo Brooks Throws Staffers Under The Bus To Avoid Blame For Capitol Riot
