As an experiment I wailed away over this Comfortably Numb backing track (making no attempt to recreate the original solo) using the least expensive gear I own. Guitar, amp and pedals cost me less than £160 (214$) in total:

Guitar: heavily vandalised Korean PRS SE that a friend found for £40 at an auction.
Amp: Solid State 15w Vox (£80 new)
Overdrive: Chinese 'Timmy' clone - (£15 new)
Echo: Mooer Analog Delay (£40)
The only reverb used was from the Vox amp.

Also: The Mic I used to record the guitar was £12 new from Maplins. Comfortably Cheap
