POKROV - The Feast of the Protecting Veil of the Mother of God

Video POKROV - “The Protecting Veil of the Mother of God” with English subtitles. The Video features the history of the feast of Pokrov and the early Christian Church in the East.

The film was shot in areas of the former Byzantine Empire (modern Turkey), Russia and Georgia. The author talks about the churches dedicated to the Feast of Protection of the Mother of God, including the famous St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow, and invites the viewers to participate in the colorful celebrations in Mtskheta, an ancient capital of Georgia. A separate piece is dedicated to the Blessed Matrona of Moscow, whose holy relics rest in the Pokrovsky Monastery in Moscow.
