I have not hidden the fact that I have been struggling lately to find the motivation to get into the gym.

The gym is typically my happy place. It is typically a place where I can forget about everything else going on and just focus on me and my body.

With the start of the semester, however, and a bunch of new opportunities and moving pieces, I have struggled turning off my brain and being present in the gym. This has led to the gym feeling like just a distraction or something keeping me from all the other work I have to do.

At times like this, I really have to remind myself consistency - motivation and sometimes I just have to show up!

I know overall what the gym does for me, physically and mentally.

I know my why.

I know that it is truly something that I love.

I know that this season, mentally, will pass.

I also know that none of this should stop me from getting my a** up and into the gym.

I need to step away from work. I need to have moments for myself. I need to move. I need to sweat.

Half the battle is just showing up!!

If you need a reminder to get yourself into the gym, let this be it! Remind yourself of your why. Remind yourself of how far you have come.

Yes, rest is important. Yes, time off won’t disrupt all your progress. But needed rest is different than just not feeling motivated to go to the gym.

Get it done yall! Your future self will thank you. The gym is typically my happy place
